Alpaca Experience and Fibre Nesting Ball Workshop

Meet, interact, learn about, and feed alpacas. Make a take-home, eco-friendly alpaca nesting ball for your backyard bird population.

Meet alpacas and make a craft

Come hang out with our alpacas and find out which one’s the drama queen. You’ll hand-feed them, watch them do ridiculous alpaca things, and learn why we probably should’ve named the farm after them instead of the cows.

Then we head into the barn to meet your companion alpacas. You’ll craft an eco-friendly nesting ball from actual alpaca fibre while they supervise. They’re not helpful, but they’re excellent company.

You’ll have plenty of time for photos and whatever else happens when you’re surrounded by fluffy and adorable alpacas. Oh, and the miniature goats will absolutely show up looking for attention too (and you must give it to them).

Things to know before you book

  • Age Requirement: This experience is for ages 10+ and guests aged 10–16 must be accompanied by a participating adult. No exceptions.
  • Behaviour Guidelines: Alpacas are naturally anxious and sensitive to quick movements or grabbing. Participants must remain calm and follow the facilitator’s rules.
  • Minimum Capacity: If the minimum number of 4 participants is not reached for the day and time you have booked, you may be asked to reschedule.
  • Weather: The experience goes ahead regardless of weather as most of it is indoors (in the winter).
  • Winter Accessibility: This experience is not accessible for people in wheelchairs/with walkers in the winter due to snowy pastures.
  • Dress for the Weather: Wear warm, layered clothing and boots for the outdoor portion as we may be walking through snow/uneven ground.

Cancellation Policy

To create the best experience for both our guests and our animals, we limit the number of participants in each experience. Last-minute cancellations are very difficult to rebook, so we have a fair cancellation policy that we strictly follow:

    • If we cancel due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full credit (minus the booking system processing fee).

    • Cancellations made 5 days or more before your experience are eligible for a full refund, credit, or reschedule (minus the processing fee).

    • Cancellations made 2–4 days before your experience will receive a 50% refund or 50% credit/reschedule (minus the processing fee).

    • Cancellations within 48 hours of the experience are non-refundable and cannot be credited or rescheduled.

    • No-shows will not receive a refund, credit, or reschedule.

How we keep the alpacas safe and happy

We like to say that we’re overprotective helicopter parents when it comes to our farm beauties. That’s why we only run this experience a few times a week with a small number of guests per session. You must sanitize your shoes on our sanitary foot mat and wash your hands. We’ll teach you how to behave around them and handle them properly, because when you get this right, the bond you can form is truly incredible. During their downtime, they live their lives together in their pastures, kicking the hay, rolling around on the ground, and discussing their favourite books.
