ANIMALS FOR SALE
At times we do have animals available for sale to the right homes. Get in touch with your request.
Please note we do not sell animals for meat, these animals are pets. We will also not sell animals for petting or travelling zoos/farms.
We provide pets for individuals/families who have the right conditions to provide our animals with loving homes.
Miniature Goats
Our miniature goats are socialized from birth. Babies are typically ready for new homes post weaning (12 weeks from birth) unless they are going with their Mom.
We recommend you get 2 bonded goats so their stress is minimized as they settle into a new home. We will not sell a single goat to anyone who does not have other goats.
None of our goats are registered.
- Goats are herd animals and they require the company of other goats to feel safe, stimulated and for their well being.
- Fixed male goats (called wethers) make great companions and do not typically have the aggression or odours that an intact buck will have.
- Consider housing: Goats need good fencing – they are masters of escape and can jump quite high. They also require shelter (both from the rain and the cold).
- Consider vet care: goats will require yearly vaccinations, hoof trimming and health checks for any illness, parasites. worms. Ensure you have access to a vet who can support their care.
- If you will be having pregnant does – ensure you have a birthing kit ready to go and are prepared if a Mom decides to abandon her baby (you may need to take over by bottle feeding.
Mini Cattle
If you are looking to have one sourced sooner, we can do so out of breeders in the US. Please note the Highland heifers (whether micro or mini) are in high demand and so costs to acquire one are quite high, in particular due to exchange, transportation, paperwork, customs, permits and vet fees. They can run you at minimum $20,000+CND. If you are interested in us helping to source you one sooner message us with your budget range and details and we can begin a discussion.
Alpacas
- Alpacas are herd animals and you need to have a minimum of 3
- Males and females should never be kept in the same pasture
- Alpacas should not be housed with goats, sheep or cattle (they can pick up parasites from eating in the same pasture)
- Alpacas have no defense from predators – you need to ensure you have adequate fencing/protection for them
- Alpacas require specialized care – make sure you have access to a vet that can treat and help you manage your alpacas. Alpacas need vaccinations and regular check ups and can hide illnesses well.
- Alpacas need to be sheared each year and have nails trimmed twice per year
- Alpacas are not “cuddly” animals – although there are always exceptions, typically alpacas do not like to be touched a lot (and touching a baby alpaca a lot can lead to aggression as they grow and lose the boundary between human and alpaca).
