We teamed up with viral sensation, little person, Canadian (from Erin!!) John Ferguson! John holds a world record as the shortest wing walker. He’s collaborated with Drake, the Blue Jays, and has hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. John is also the best person ever if you ever want to just have a coffee with him.
John found us through Instagram after searching Goat Yoga, then saw our viral Goat Stampede video and thought, “I need to do this.” If you don’t know what the Goat Stampede is, it’s the two times in the day where we release our goats from the goat barn to run into the pasture, and release them from the pasture to run back to the goat barn. Check out the viral video of our Goat Stampede and our greeter dog, Aspen, who also thought it was a good idea to join the stampede.
The Goat Stampede is a kill or be killed running of the bulls. The goats will not stop for anything so if you fall, you’re done… gone like the wind… ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE A SMALLER INDIVIDUAL.
But we knew that John is actually quite a stuntman, so he refused to wear a helmet, elbow pads, and kneepads and ran the stampede raw. We we’re on the edge of our seat, worried if it will go well. And oh boy he did not disappoint. He did the run, sure, had a little stumble at the end, but got right back up, and triumphed. Watch his Goat Stampede run that got 6 million views on social media.
John became one with the goats in Goat Yoga. He did EVERY POSE, held his ground when the heavier goats pounced him, and took all the nibbles with grace. Goats have no respect for boundaries, and when you have someone that’s closer to the ground, that’s a gold mine for them which made for a really fun experience and video!
John Ferguson of course, met our amazing mini and micro Highland cows in the Mini Highland Cow Experience. This was actually a very special moment because the mini cows have the chondro gene, which John has as well! Because of this bond and that he treated the cows with love and respect, they absolutely loved him and couldn’t get enough of him!
Lastly, we got John to walk the leader of our alpaca walks, Stanley! Stanley is a veteran on the alpaca walks, he HAS to be in front of the line so that he can check back on the group every 30 seconds.
John demonstrated a masterclass on what you DON’T do on the alpaca walks, which is why Stanley spit in his face. You don’t touch an alpaca’s face, you don’t drop the lead because it looks like a snake, and you don’t run around them… and he did them all. But that’s okay because Stanley is strong, and we ensure that all guests respect his rules!
